These sure are crazy times, and that's an understatement.
Late last year I made a goal to improve my physical fitness. I didn't have a goal weight or size. I just wanted to look, and more importantly, feel better.
I joined Orangetheory Fitness in November and found that the need to schedule classes, and facing a cancellation fee if I didn't show up, helped me make sure my behind was in the studio twice a week.
Things were going really well, until gyms in Maryland closed in March in response to the Coronavirus.
I spent about three weeks... doing nothing.
If you're anything like me, you'll set a time to work out at home that keeps getting pushed further and further back. Then that time becomes tomorrow, then the next day, then the following day... you see where I'm going with this....
I knew I needed to get back on track, and my husband and his #StruggleFitness workouts helped me do just that! It's not so much the workouts, but the motivation. He set times and posted them for his friends along with a link to join on Zoom.
Having a "class" time keeps us accountable, and working out with others makes it more enjoyable.
If you're struggling with staying on track with your at home workouts I would suggest reaching out to a few friends, setting a time, and holding each other accountable. The great thing about Zoom is that you can also share your screen. So, if you're not into making up workouts you can all watch a workout and do it together!
So far, I've worked out every day for more than three weeks - something I never thought I'd say!
