Self Care: Making Time For Yourself

Making Time For Self Care

Burn out is a REAL THING! Many of us get so consumed with work, family, and everything in between! You gotta make time for self care!

Self care is MUCH MORE than relaxing. It’s also the hard things. You know, the things that you don’t want to do but you will thank yourself later for.

Scheduling Time For Self Care

Make appointments with yourself. It may sound silly, but scheduling time will help, especially if you’re busy. Write down when you’re going to relax and recharge. Also, make sure you write down when you’re going to work out and get organized.

Set a Reminder on Your Phone

If writing things down isn’t enough, set an alarm on your phone. It’s a way to make absolutely certain that you remember to take care of yourself.

Small Pick Me Ups

Identify the little things that bring you joy. Then, when you’re having a rough day you can lean on them.

One of mine is coffee. There’s nothing like a good latte, in my book. So, if I’m having an off day I make sure I stop and grab a coffee.

Then, I spend a few moments enjoying it and relaxing before I get back to my day.

Communicate Your Needs

Make sure you let your spouse or partner know when you need some time for self-care. You may get snappy if you’re burned out. Before you get to that point, let your partner know how you’re feeling and that you may need some time to get yourself together.
