A New Challenger
Well, it looks like the pumpkin carving challenge is about to get a lot more interesting! We’re excited to share that we’re expecting our first baby! Here’s a look at our creative baby announcement:
When will the baby arrive?
We’re expecting a fall baby! So, I don’t think they’ll be quite ready for the 2024 pumpkin carving challenge, we will start training immediately for 2025. I hope Brenton is prepared to bump down to bronze from silver!
Baby boy or girl?
Notice I said, “they.” We’re waiting until birth to find out the gender of our baby! There are few true surprises in life, and this one feels exceptional. I haven’t been swayed to team boy or team girl, so I truly don’t have a feeling either way! We haven’t decided on any names yet.
I thought I spied a baby bump...
Maybe you did, maybe you didn’t! I had a couple of food babies before the bump even became noticeable. Speaking of that, I did receive some questions and premature congratulations. While I know everyone’s heart is in the right place, I think it’s a good reminder that everyone should be able to announce their news when it feels right for them and their family. As women, we gain/lose weight for a variety of reasons – and in the very worst cases, some women experience losses later in their pregnancies. So, while curiosity is natural, it may be better to hold off on questions and wait to hear an announcement – if there is one.
We are thrilled and honored to become parents and we can’t wait to meet our baby! Thank you for the outpouring of love and support thus far! I will post some updates as we prepare our nursery to welcome the newest member of our family!
