It seems like it was just yesterday that Brent and I decided to go head-to-head for our pumpkin carving challenge! It quickly became a tradition, and now we’re celebrating TEN years! So, who will take the crown in the 2023 pumpkin carving challenge? You get to decide!
The Challenge Rules
The rules are pretty simple, but they have evolved over the years. This is our tenth year, after all! The first rule is no stencils are allowed. The pumpkin carving designs must be drawn by hand. Last, but not least, there’s a time limit. The pumpkins must be carved in two hours. Then, it’s off to the races, and may the best pumpkin win! As in years past, we recorded the challenge so you can see all the hard work (and trash talk) that goes into these pumpkins.
You Decide: Who is the Champion?
Brent says his plan was, allegedly, to celebrate love. Ya’ll know he loves to pander for some votes! So, he wore a shirt I designed and then carved the word, “love” into his pumpkin. The touch he thinks will get him the win for the 2023 pumpkin carving challenge is adding the Starbucks crown, because he knows how much I love their coffee.
On the other hand, I went into the 2023 pumpkin carving challenge with a solid plan.
I saw Beetlejuice when I was in the nail shop a few weeks ago. That was the inspiration for my Halloween manicure, and my pumpkin had to match! So, I carved Beetlejuice into my pumpkin. It was an ambitious carve, with the time limit, but I was able to complete it with a couple of minutes to spare!
