My Dirty Thirty: Celebrating at Luray Caverns
Ya’ll it has been a MINUTE! A lot has happened over the last year. I’m engaged (ohhhh snap!) and getting married in October! In December I had a milestone birthday and a real #Dirty30 at Luray Caverns!
Discovered in 1878 the caverns have drawn many visitors over the last 140 years including me and Brent!
Luray Caverns is located in Luray, Virginia. Our drive from Maryland was a little over an hour. Once we got there we were definitely ready to explore!
One of the first sights you’ll see on the tour is this beautiful pool of water that acts as a mirror in the cavern. Trust me, a picture does not do this justice – it was truly beautiful!
You’ll also learn a little about geology. We learned that the formations hanging from the ceiling are stalactites, and the formations rising from the ground are called stalagmites. Before the tour, I thought they were all called rocks!
Another part of the tour that was really cool was the wishing well. The staff collects the change every few years and donates it to a charity.
It’s a great way to use your spare change to do something good!
I’m so happy to be back to blogging again! Be sure to check back often for new content!
